Born and raised in Kennesaw Georgia, Michelle Scott takes pride in being a Georgia Peach. Raised by two hardworking, entrepreneurial parents, she learned at an early age that is was OK to get your hands dirty. With the mindset of if there is a will theres a way firmly instilled, she took a chance and decided to pursue her dream of being a career artist. She switched from a Psychology major to a Fine Arts degree at Kennesaw State University. She graduated as one of the leading artist of her class.
During her college years Michelle developed an interest in learning more about other cultures. She used gut and ingenuity to obtain travel opportunities all around the world; a semester abroad in Hawaii, sailing throughout Malaysia, the Mediterranean & Greek Islands, backpacking through Europe, exploration of the Exuma islands and road trips throughout North America and Alaska. Every new country visited brings new experiences to enhance her mental artistic library. Fascinated with the people she encounters, Michelle often uses faces of individuals as her main subject matter.
She began her career as an artist at the age of 21 with her first solo show. Ever since, she has been gaining a steady stream of collectors and commissions. In 2007, another goal was obtained upon the relocation to one of the art empires, Chicago Illinois. She is currently living and working as full time artist. |
